At 22 years old, Johnny Giles is one of the youngest poets in Wales to already have a published pamphlet. He joined Tim Wells, Billy Childish, and Jah Wobble on the list of writers at Blackheath Books on National Poetry Day last year when his pamphlet, Chalk Outlines, was launched.
BUY THE BOOK HERE Johnny has read his work at Swindon Literature Festival, Edinburgh Fringe, Bang Said the Gun slam, Apples & Snakes Jawdance open mic, the Dylan Weekend in Laugharne, the Poetry Cafe in London, Hub Festival, Made in Roath Festival, Back of the Pub Poetry Club (where he was resident poet), Cellar Bards, Oxslam, Making Minds, the Dylan Thomas Boathouse, Brown's Hotel, Do not Go Gentle Festival, and various events in Cardiff and around South Wales.

Johnny is a trainee journalist whose poetic work often deals with political issues such as mental health, war, and social justice. He has read at events such as Poets For Peace and Oranges & Strangers, a night of politically acerbic verse.
Johnny's work has appeared in CCQ magazine, Blackheath Books Counter Cultural Review, three drops from a cauldron (web journal and print anthology), and Anthology to Seamus Heaney (forthcoming).
